common oven faults
The most likely cause for this is a faulty element, which is a simple fix for a competent domestic appliance engineer.
If your oven is not reaching, or staying at, the correct temperature then this could be a sign that the thermostat requires replacing. Again, this is an easy fix for a competent oven repair engineer.
If your oven door drops below it’s normal level then the most likely culprit are the hinges (which can get bent).
Heat escaping is a sign that the door seal is not properly seated or that it has perished.
If you notice your oven cooking food unevenly, then this is usually a sign that the oven is not at the same temperature throughout. If it’s a fan-assisted oven then the likely culprit could be a faulty fan.
An oven lightbulb is no different from a normal household lightbulb. They will blow from time to time and require a replacement.
